GOD IS
THE VINE
One day as I was sitting in my yard thinking about all of the blessings, that have come in my life, I looked down and noticed a branch that was laying on the ground beside of me. It had no leaves on it, it was very dry and brittle. It easily snapped in two when I picked it up to toss it in the trash can.  Then a scripture came to my mind from the book of John chapter fifteen and verse five, it reads, "I am the vine and you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:6, "If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." I then became thankful for the presence of God in my life that had caused all the blessings that I had been thinking about.

God is our vine, He's where we get our life from. I had lived 25 years of my life without having a relationship with God. I believed in Him but I didn't KNOW Him. There is a difference!  But on the VERY DAY that I became aware that God IS REAL and that He wanted to begin to take control of my life, my life began to change. Suddenly I realized that I was here on this earth for a purpose. I no longer had to worry about choices that I had to make, in my life, for I knew if I talked to the Lord about them that He would guide me, to make the RIGHT ones. I suddenly felt different. I felt happy and content inside. It was like a BIG dose of vitamin C!  I had extra energy, I felt GREAT, and I began to wonder how I ever made it before without this life force that I had tapped into.

God is certainly a life force and He says that if we stay in Him or attached ourselves to Him that we will bear MUCH FRUIT.  In the book of Galatians chapter 5 and verse 22 it says that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering or patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance or self control. We all know that God is a Spirit and that His Spirit dwells in us. So by having ourselves attached onto Him, who is our vine, we cause that Spirit to come alive and we begin to show forth His fruits. We will have much love and joy in our lives. We will also experience the peace that He gives. We will know that He is in control of circumstances in our lives and not worry so much about them. We can endure long-suffering and gain patience, and that is something we all need to have in this fast going world today. Also we will have gentleness and kindness towards others we meet. We will experience temperance or self-control, knowing that deep down inside we want to PLEASE  God. We will be faithful to Him in all things for we love Him and appreciate all that He has done for us in making our lives more rewarding.

Yes... attaching ourselves to God the vine is a very rewarding thing to do. The blessings just keep coming and coming! Surely I would be like the branch that dried up and withered and had no life in it, if I didn't have God as my vine. I would be like the branch I saw laying in my yard with no green leaves or pretty flowers on it. I would be brittle and snap at any thing that came against me for I would not have God to depend on for help. I would have no future, and I certainly would not be bearing any fruit. I would be miserable, feeling very empty.

Yes it's been twenty-two years now since I have had God as my source of life, and I am very thankful of the life that He has given me. He has shown Himself many times in very troubles situations that I have had and He has answered all my prayers. He has given me spiritual eyes to see, His plan for His creation in the earth, and most of all He has made me a part of the finishing of it. I have a purpose for my life and I feel good about fulfilling it. I can see His fruits coming forth in me and I know that He is a MIGHTY GOD and that He LOVES US ALL!

So if your feeling like the withered branch just get down on your knees and ask God to be apart of your life. Make Him your life source. Attach yourself to Him, the vine, and just watch the life come into you and see the fruits that you will begin to have. Remember John 15, verse 5 says,...... GOD is the vine; YOU are the branches. If YOU stay in God, YOU will bear MUCH FRUIT in your life. So let's start blossoming for God, you won't regret it!
